Days With My Stepsister: A New Anime Coming This July

The official X account for the upcoming anime adaptation of Ghost Mikawa and Hiten’s light novel series Days With My Stepsister announced on Monday that the anime will premiere in July 2024, as part of the Summer 2024 anime season. The announcement also revealed the main cast and character visuals for the anime.

Days With My Stepsister is a romantic comedy that follows Yuuta Asamura, a high school student who suddenly gets a new stepsister, Saki Ayase, after his father remarries. Saki is the most popular and beautiful girl in his school, but both of them have scars from their parents’ previous divorces. They agree to keep a respectful and vague distance from each other, but as they live together, they gradually learn the comfort and warmth of being a family.

The anime will be produced by Studio DEEN, with Tsutomu Ueno as the director, Mitsutaka Hirota as the series composer, and Manabu Nii as the character designer. The main cast includes Kohei Amasaki as Yuuta Asamura, Yuki Nakashima as Saki Ayase, Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri, Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru, and Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Narasaka.

The light novel series began serialization in 2019 under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J imprint, and has published nine volumes so far. A manga adaptation by Yumita Kanade is also ongoing in Comic Alive magazine. Yen Press has licensed the light novel series for English release.

Fans of the series can look forward to the anime’s debut in July 2024, and enjoy the sweet and funny story of Yuuta and Saki’s stepsibling life.
