Double Helix Blossom: The New Manga from the Mastermind Behind Lycoris Recoil

Lycoris Recoil Creator Asaura Launches Double Helix Blossom Manga Asaura, the creator of the popular sci-fi action anime series Lycoris Recoil, has teamed up with artist Gomeyuki Nishima and board game designer Masato Uesugi to launch a new manga series titled Double Helix Blossom. The manga debuted in Shogakukan’s Weekly Coro Coro Comic magazine on Monday, January 14, 2024.

Double Helix Blossom is a near-future action story that follows a police woman who is put into cryogenic sleep after a severe injury. She wakes up 60 years later in a completely different version of Japan, where she partners with a criminal with psychic powers to solve supernatural cases. The manga is based on an upcoming board game of the same name, which will be released by SWAV, a company founded by Uesugi.

Asaura is best known for creating Lycoris Recoil, a hit anime series that aired in 2022 and 2023.
